Flatpack Furniture Assembly - Handyman

We work weekdays, evenings and weekends

“Flat-pack furniture” need not mean divorce or a maddening struggle with a pile of parts at home. We specialise in interpreting the complicated drawings and in deciphering the instructions which seem to have been written by a Swedish speaking oriental.

We have assembled furniture from Argos, Furniture Village, Habitat, Ikea, John Lewis, London Furniture Company, MFI and many more. So don’t get mad – get The Cumbria Handyman.

Our fitters arrive with suitable tools, unpack, sort out the cams, pins, 50 types of screw, drawer runners and hinges. We put the finished piece where you want it, tidy up and leave.

We convert this

to this

We have tried to make our pricing as straightforward as possible. Experience has shown us that the fairest way is to charge an hourly rate for the job as this fairly reflect the difficulty of a particular task in relation to assembly, accessibility, siting of the finished article etc.

Our rates therefore are as follows:

Hourly rate: £15 hour.

Minimum charge: £40.00

We are happy to provide estimated costs for any work based on our experience of assembly times for similar items but the actual cost will be the time taken for the work.

Larger furniture will need to be assembled in the room where it is to be used, you will need to ensure that there is plenty of room for the assembly which more often than not will require the furniture to be assembled laying down.

If you are going to DIY it, don't force it, get a big hammer.

Seriously, if you do want to try the assembly yourself, here is some advice I have put together. Click here...
